Technically known as oligoclase, sunstone feldspar is a species of plagioclase feldspar. It has a red metallic glitter, which is caused by light interference from tine hematite or goethite plates present within. It is mostly cut as a cabochon or as a flat surface to show this metallic effect more clearly.
