AMBER

Amber is the fossilized resin of trees and it usually occurs as nodules or small, irregularly shaped masses. Amber can contain insects, moss, lichen or pine needles that were trapped millions of years ago when the resin was still sticky. Its famous deposits lies in the Baltic region mainly along the coasts of Poland and former USSR. Apart from this it can also reach to the coasts of Norway, Denmark & England. It also comes from Burma and some other locations include the Czech Republic, Romania, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, USA and Canada.

Colors: Light yellow to brown, red, nearly colorless, milky white, blue, black and greenish.
