MORGANITE
Named after the American banker and gem enthusiast J. Pierpoint Morgan, morganite is colored by manganese impurities. It has a vitreous luster and the first specimen was found in California, USA. Some of the best morganite comes from Madagascar. Brazil produces pure pink crystal and some other locations include Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Pakistan and Italy.
Crystal Structure: Hexagonal Hardness: 7.5-8 Specific Gravity: 2.65-2.75 Refractive Index: 1.57-1.59 Colors: Pink, rose, peach and violet. Luster: Vitreous
