ALEXANDRITE Alexandrite is the most valuable form of chrysoberyl as it changes from green in daylight to red, mauve or brown in incandescent light, like light bulb. It had been mined in Russia and today it is mainly found in Sri Lanka and Rhodesia. Other deposits are found in Burma, Brazil, Malagasy Republic, Tasmania and the USA.
